In six months of having lessons with Matt I went from having no knowledge of music theory and limited playing ability to being able to write my own songs and feel confident enough in my playing to record songs and play in front of other people. I would recommend Matt to anyone looking to improve their guitar playing and songwriting skills no matter what level they are at.
Matt has been teaching my 7 year old son for a year now. Matt is talented, patient, friendly and makes the lessons a real highlight of my son’s week (who is coming on in leaps and bounds under Matt’s tutelage). Highly recommended.
I have been having guitar lessons with Matt since early 2014 and I have found him to be an excellent teacher. I was a complete beginner and had never picked up a guitar before and Matt has tailored his lessons accordingly, ensuring they are stimulating and challenging, whilst progressing at just the right pace. Matt is also very personable, making the lessons good fun, which is very important as learning guitar as an adult does have its frustrations…I recommend Matt highly…
Matt has been teaching guitar to my 9 year old son for a year and to my 7 year old son for a few months. He has a very positive approach and really nice personality, we are very happy with his lessons and highly recommend him.
Matt is a very inspirational guitar teacher. He always comes up with interestingly structured classes that suit my level and puts lot of knowledge into the lessons. He managed to take me through the difficulties of being a beginner and I always come home inspired to learn more. I would definitely recommend Matt as a guitar teacher for any age group, he is very patient – even though I make lots of mistakes :).
Learning an instrument later in life brings its own different challenges to learning at an early age – challenges that I am happy to be able to meet with Matt as a teacher. Matt is patient and plans my lessons very well, and I am progressing on the Guitar at a most agreeable rate.
